James A. Waechter, III - Attorney, Vice President of the Corporation

James A. Waechter, III is an attorney who has practiced in the area of real estate and banking law since 1977.  Mr. Waechter received his undergraduate degree cum laude from St. Louis University in 1974 with a degree in political science.  In 1973, Mr. Waechter served as an intern in the United States House of Representatives for Illinois Congressman, Melvin Price.  Mr. Waechter received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 1977. 

Mr. Waechter was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1977 and began practice in Nashville, Tennessee in the area of commercial and residential real estate transactions.  Mr. Waechter was a member of the Memphis, Tennessee based law firm of Walt Dyer and James (later McDonnell Dyer) and was responsible for operations of its Nashville, Tennessee office for 13 years.

Mr. Waechter has significant experience in representation of mortgage companies and banking institutions as counsel and closing agent.  Mr. Waechter regularly conducts seminars and home buyer classes for realty firms and lending institutions.  In addition, Mr. Waechter served as adviser and instructor in connection with the Resolution Trust Corporation's Affordable Housing Unit.

Mr. Waechter's community service activities include the Middle Tennessee Homebuilders Association, Nashville Mortgage Bankers Association, Dismas House, and St. Patricks Church.
